Our Christian Ethos, Values, Vision and Narrative

Let Your Light Shine - Matthew 5:16 Meaning Explained

Through our Christian values and vision, we strive for excellence in all that we do, working collaboratively to enable the ‘whole’ child to develop and flourish. Each child is valued and encouraged to be the ‘best that they can possibly be’ and allow their ‘light to shine’ through stimulating, memorable learning experiences. All members of our school community work collectively to offer a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment.

Our Christian values provide a strong foundation and these are embedded throughout our school day. We believe that every child has the right to flourish through an inspirational, invitational and inclusive approach, and it’s our Christian ethos that fundamentally creates that platform for all to succeed and fulfil their God-given potential.

"The school's vision and values and accompanying biblical narrative are enabling pupils to thrive in this caring and aspirational community." SIAMS Inspection Report 2022

"The intrinsic worth in everyone to be a shining light is contributing to creating a flourishing environment for all." SIAMS Inspection Report 2022

"The unique value of each pupil and adult is at the heart of the school's pastoral care." SIAMS Inspection Report 2022

Our Christian Vision

Through the loving example of Jesus Christ, we strive to provide opportunities for all members of our diverse school community to flourish within a caring, aspirational, spiritual and inclusive environment.
We aim to create successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens ready to take the next steps in life.

Our Christian Narrative

Bible Reading Matthew Chapter 5 verses 14-16:-

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Our Learning for Life Prayer

Heavenly Father
We thank you for all the different learning opportunities we have at St Mary’s.
Please help us to have confidence to take on new challenges.
We give thanks for everyone who helps us with our learning,
and we promise to help and encourage others,
May we keep our positive attitude to learning all through our lives
with you as our guide, Lord.
Amen
